The Dovin NOWPA scholarship is awarded each year to two members of the A. T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine NOWPA organization in recognition of their advocacy of women's health issues and promotion of women in Osteopathic medicine.

The late Irma S. Dovin, D.O., was a 1996 graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and prior to that received her bachelor's degree in Education from Truman State University (Kirksville, MO) in 1984. Irma was passionate about medicine and doing what she could to help her patients, students, friends, family and strangers. In addition to her passion for medicine, Irma loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor.

Irma passed away in 2003 as a result of a car accident. Her contributions to medicine, medical education, and a role model for aspiring physicians, is a great loss.
